Continuing their reign in the footwear world

The competitiveness of the sneaker industry almost never leads to a brand seeking out the talents of a independent label that's inspired—or, uh, "inspired"—by the bigger brand's archives. But it's starting to happen, and suggests a refreshing receptiveness on the part of the major brands. It wasn't long ago that Virgil Abloh was making his own adidas stan smith primeknit-inspired kicks, and now he's got his own official collaboration with the Swoosh. Working with those brands lets Nike and Adidas introduce higher-end sneakers and grab a little cool-by-association. Which makes more sense than just leveraging the smaller companies' aesthetic to make a quick buck.

German sportswear maker adidas tubular shadow is looking to tighten its belt in India, which may lead to reduction in employee strength and franchise partners in the country. The company, which owns Reebok, could lay off around one-fourth of its staff here in the coming months, said sources, and has been in talks with Reliance Brands to hand over a chunk of its franchise business. Adidas is keen on large-format stores as it feels bigger stores with a complete range of footwear and apparel have a better chance of becoming profitable. For this, it needs franchisees with deep pockets, and although it has reduced the number of its franchise partners to around 70 from 500 earlier, a further cut is on the cards.

Continuing their reign in the footwear world, today adidas tubular doom is back with another Core Black installment into their footwear family. Today we get our first look at adidas’ Core Black Tubular Doom Primeknit. This eye-catching new design comes rocking a bold color scheme that features its patented sock-like upper. The comfortable upper is constructed from the brand’s Primeknit material white leather, and suede overlays add some protection. The monochrome color scheme comes together on top of a clean, white tubular sole that adds stability and cushion. Have a look at the outstanding and eye-catching new version in the images below and give us your thoughts in the comments.

The newly introduced adidas tubular shadow black is featured in one of its inaugural colorways — core black. The men’s adidas Tubular Shadow just dropped in core black recently and this women’s exclusive pair follows that up in a similar colorway of core black/grey five. The smooth textile upper mixes hues of black and grey for a classic look with other details including rope style laces, branding on the tongue and heel, and a white rubber sole that completes the design. A style that certainly borrows aesthetic elements from the popular adidas Yeezy Boost 350, this variation is essentially a budget friendly counterpart. Perforated leather comprise the majority of its upper, while woven mesh paneling is prominent on the heel tab and medial section for a dynamic finish.
